As a long-distance runner who just ran two marathons this fall, and as Shape’s senior editor, it’s safe to say that testing running shoes is my specialty. In addition to the marshmallow-like feel, these babies also secure your heel in place and protect it from any mishaps and missteps thanks to what the brand calls a crash pad. The genius addition essentially acts as a crutch for your foot each step, taking the load off your feet and joints.
Think this is all just fluff? No way. The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) gave these kicks their seal of acceptance which means it’s proven to benefit foot health. What more could you want?
