I used to be really good at sleeping through the night, but as I’ve gotten older, my needs have changed and my body has suffered for it—specifically my neck. I’ve tried so many different kind of pillows—from ones aimed at easing my back and neck pain to others that promise to keep me cool as hot flashes set in. For years, I searched for one pillow to rule them all; and friends, I’ve found it.

I’ve been using the Honeydew Scrumptious Side Sleeper Pillow.for nearly two years now and I’m still obsessed. It continues to be comfortable and supportive, but what I’m amazed by is how it has retained its shape. I haven’t had to add any extra filling since getting it in 2024. I sleep with this pillow every night, travel with it, and remain thankful that my pillow-shopping days are behind me. Still not convinced? Read my in depth thoughts below.

What I love about the Honeydew Scrumptious Side Sleeper Pillow

The support

I have long wrestled with pillows through the night, attempting to squish them into a shape that feels comfortable. It never worked, and I often woke up with a sore neck or shoulder. Due to the overall design of the Honeydew pillow, I now wake up with no neck pain—and I mean zero.

As a full time side sleeper, I often sleep hugging the pillow, which can lead to all kinds of aches and pains. However, the curved pillow is specifically structured to support my head and neck while I am on my side. The unique shape also supports my top shoulder and arm, which means it’s not pulling on my neck or back muscles all night (and yes, it has helped with my upper back pain, too!).

The comfort

The design isn’t just supportive, though, it’s also comfortable. The curve in the pillow cradles everything all at once (like my beloved pregnancy pillow, but smaller), so I can relax. The pillow has a medium firmness, which feels supportive, yet soft. I’ve had this pillow for two years now, and its shape hasn’t changed or deflated one bit. The bottom line: I hardly toss and turn at night once I’m in my sweet spot.

If a medium firmness isn’t for you, it’s worth mentioning that the pillow is adjustable. If you want it softer, you can remove some of the filling. Likewise, if you want more filling, you can purchase it.

The temperature

I own a gel cooling pillow, and while the initial cold blast is nice, I find that it fades quickly and needs to be flipped over regularly (not ideal!). The Honeydew pillow, on the other hand, is filled with copper-infused foam, which the brand says can keep you cooler in the long run, as copper is efficient at drawing heat away from your body.

In my experience, I don’t get that immediate cold blast with this pillow (like I do with my gel pillow), but it doesn’t get hot, either. The Honeydew also comes with an organic bamboo fiber pillow case that’s breathable and lightweight. Overall, it definitely feels like this pillow is good at temperature regulation.

The pillowcase and the actual pillow cover zip open. I can remove that filling (see the copper flakes?) and wash either of these when I need.

I sleep on my left side, and this is how I position my Honeydew pillow. It supports my head, neck, and top shoulder/arm all night.

What to consider

Sleep position

Like I said, this Honeydew has been a game-changer for me as a side sleeper. The brand says that this pillow is also suitable for back sleepers, and on the rare occasions that I’ve slept in a different position, I still wake up feeling fine. Stomach sleepers, however, this pillow is probably not flat enough for you.

The cost

I won’t pretend that spending $200 for a single pillow is no big deal. It is definitely pricey. But, considering the amount of restful sleep I’ve received in the last two years (and how well its held up over time!), it’s a worthy investment. I’ve spent money on unsupportive cooling pillows, awkwardly uncomfortable cervical contour pillows, and countless on-sale pillows that I picked up in stores over the years—and all of that trial and error adds up, too.

Since getting my beloved Honeydew in 2024, I haven’t purchased another pillow for myself. There’s simply no need. That said, if you try this pillow and it doesn’t work for you, Amazon and Honeydew Sleep both have a 60-day return policy.

Is the Honeydew Scrumptious Side Sleeper Pillow worth it?

Yes. As a side-sleeping woman who has spent a lot of time and money searching for a pillow that will help me get a good night’s sleep, this pillow is so worth the purchase. It has entirely erased my neck pain, and that alone is priceless. I love that I can easily find a comfortable position and drift off to sleep without overheating or waking up throughout the night.

I look forward to using this pillow every night, and it’s the first pillow I’ve ever traveled with—even though I don’t own the travel-sized version. If anything ever happens to this one, I’ll immediately buy another. Call me obsessed, but I just don’t want to sleep without it.
