Now that the weather is warming up, it’s officially sandal season. But if you struggle with foot pain like plantar fasciitis (inflamed tissue or strained ligaments between the heel and the toes), the warm weather combined with extra time walking outdoors can lead to even more pain. The key to beating the heat without sacrificing your feet: A pair of sandals with contoured midsole support like this top-tested pair from Dr. Scholl’s, which is currently on sale for just $48—40% off retail price!

As a health shopping writer, I’m always on the hunt for shoes that aren’t just fashionable but also functional—I personally struggle with pain in my arches and prefer to wear sandals with a molded footbed, including sandals from Dr. Scholl’s.

Because this pair is designed to hug the arches of your feet and is equipped with cushion, it offers the comfort and support needed to help alleviate foot pain. One tester who wore the shoes on her commute commented that the footbed “molded well to my feet and didn’t weigh me down.”

The strappy style is a breeze to pull on too. Made with soft recycled microfiber and elastic, the straps stretch to your foot without requiring any adjusting or fumbling with annoying buckles. A tester said the straps “stretched easily when I put on the shoes and bounced back to keep them in place.” The flexible material moves with you, rather than digging into the tops of your feet.

With a one-inch faux wood heel, the sandals do provide a little lift for an elevated look. The white scalloped outsoles aren’t as durable and grippy as other walking sandals we’ve tested, so I recommend them as more of a casual sandal for everyday use rather than anything technical.

Choose between a chic black pair or a light cream and tan pair—or opt for both while they’re on sale!—for an instant footwear upgrade and some much-needed relief.
