Aspiring to drink more water is a common goal, but you might want to think twice before stocking up on bottled H20 right now. Nearly 650,000 gallons of bottled water have been recalled by Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC, due to contamination concerns, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
According to the FDA’s enforcement report, the bottled water was recalled by the manufacturing company because it was “bottled under insanitary conditions.” The FDA gave the recall a Class II designation, which means that consuming the impacted bottled water products “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
Here’s what you need to know about the recall.
Which products were impacted by the recall?
All of the bottled water products impacted by the recall were manufactured by Valley Springs Artesian Gold, LLC. Check your fridge or pantry for the following items:

Luckily, the affected products weren’t distributed nationwide. They were only circulated in Illinois and Wisconsin, though the report did not specify which retailers sold the products. More information on the affected bottles of water, including UPC codes, can be found in the FDA’s enforcement report.
What should I do with a recalled product?
The recall announcement doesn’t provide any specific consumer advice. That said, if you do find you have a product impacted by the recall, you generally shouldn’t consume it. The safest thing to do is throw it out or return it to where you bought it, depending on the retailer and manufacturer guidelines. If you already consumed a recalled product and have any health concerns, be sure to contact your doctor right away.
