As a health and style writer, I spend a lot of time clocking what celebs actually work out in—not just what they wear for staged mirror selfies. So when Jennifer Garner posts a mid-sweat workout video, I pay attention. In her latest Instagram post, the 53-year-old actress shared a clip of herself kickboxing, and while the workout was genuinely impressive, my eyes went straight to her activewear.
On her feet were, of course, a pair of Brooks sneakers. Garner is devoted to the editor-favorite sneaker brand, and previously showed off her Brooks sneaker collection on Instagram back in December. In this recent video, Garner sports the Brooks Glycerin 22 (unfortunately, in a discontinued colorway).
The Glycerin 22 is a longtime favorite—and is a particularly smart pick for a high-impact workout like kickboxing. I personally love the plush, bouncy cushioning that helps absorb impact and the extra heel padding for added comfort. It has a secure, neutral fit that helps keep feet stable while pivoting, shuffling, and, of course, kicking. It’s worth noting that Brooks has since released the Glycerin 23, which builds on everything we love about the previous iteration. The newer model features a bit more cushioning at the toes for smoother heel-toe transitions plus an even more breathable knit upper.
As for the rest of Garner’s look, the Splits59 Sam High Waist Rigor 7/8 legging is a perfectly on-brand choice. The LA-based label is known for its flattering fits and performance fabrics, and the streamlined silhouette of this legging works seamlessly with the Glycerin’s sleek, sporty profile. I love that this legging also features pops of blue and white down the inner and outer leg, which give it a fun yet polished touch.
