  • Lundberg Family Farms recalled select bags of white rice sold nationwide, according to an announcement from Wegmans.
  • Here’s a list of impacted products.

Most of us probably have a bag of white rice sitting in our pantry, but you may want to take a closer look at the labels on your emergency stockpile. 4,500 cases of Lundberg Family Farms white rice have been recalled nationwide, according to Wegmans.

The rice was recalled due to the “possible presence of foreign material,” per an announcement issued by the grocery store chain. While Lundberg spokespeople have told multiple news outlets that they’ve reported the recall to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the agency has yet to release an enforcement report. However, the recall is being widely reported with a Class II designation, meaning that consuming the impacted rice “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

Here’s what you need to know.

Which products are impacted by the recall?

Lundberg Family Farms manufactured all of the rice impacted by the recall. The recalled rice was distributed at Wegmans stores nationwide in 2-lb bags. While the recall has only been reported by Wegmans thus far, the rice may also have been sold at other retailers. Check your pantry for the following:

  • Product name: Lundberg Family Farms Regenerative Organic Certified White Jasmine Rice (2-pound bag)
  • Best-by dates and lot codes: 02/01/2027, 260201 and 02/02/2027, 260202
  • UPC: 073416- 040281

For more information about the recall, see Wegmans’ announcement.

What should I do with a recalled product?

Again, the FDA has yet to issue an enforcement report on this recall with specific consumer advice. But if you do have a recalled product, the general best practice is to stop consuming it and throw it away. If you bought the rice at Wegmans, you can return it to the store for a full refund or contact 1-855-934-3663 with any questions, per the company’s announcement. There have been no reports of injury or illness to date; however, if you have already consumed the recalled rice and have any health concerns, be sure to get medical attention right away.
