Denise Austin, 68, Demonstrates 3 ‘Simple Moves’ for ‘Sexy Arms’

Fitness pro Denise Austin often shares her expertise with fans. Whether you’re looking for strong abs, Pilates moves to feel strong, or aerobic exercises for women over 50, she’s got the moves to help you achieve it. If you plan to revamp your workout plan for the new year, Austin posted a video to her Instagram demonstrating three simple exercises for “sexy arms” to help you keep your routine manageable and effective.

“This sexy arms routine hits it ALL. Do it with me today!” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram demonstration. “Stay consistent and feel strong. YOU’VE GOT THIS!” Keep reading for her wisdom that you can put into action right at home.

Bicep curl

Using a pair of small free weights, Austin began by demonstrating a basic bicep curl while standing. “Make sure, when you’re doing this, your back is strong and straight, and curl all the way [up]. Full range of motion,” she said. “Do it for one whole minute.”

Tricep kickbacks

Next, Austin hinged at her hips to create a flat back. Holding the same pair of small weights (which you can adjust to your needs), she began with her hands at her sides, then pushed the weights back behind her, then forward. The move helps “tone and firm up, so when you wave goodbye, nothing will jiggle,” she joked. She also recommended doing this for one minute.

Squeeze press

This last move tones the arms and inner chest, Austin said. She began by holding the weights with her arms bent at the elbows in a cactus-like shape in front of her. “Pull your arms down and push them back up,” she instructed. “Keeping your tummy in, your back straight. You got this. Woo! Have sexy tanktop arms.”

And that’s it! Austin continues to share welcome reminders that getting or staying in shape doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it can be easy and fun.
