Whether you are getting ready to train for a marathon or hitting the trails for a foliage walk, there is no denying that fall is the best season to get some extra outdoor steps in. Before you start trekking, we recommend a fall shoe refresh for maximum support and stability, and one of our (and podiatrists’) favorite sneaker brands is Hoka.
Their cushioned comfort and pillowy insoles are just as great for those with plantar fasciitis as they are for those who are on their feet for long shifts, which means they come at a steep price (typically upwards of $150!). So we are always on the hunt to bring you discounted styles when we spot them. This month, we are going to be honest: The sales are sparse. Seriously, as we were writing this, two of the deals we had flagged completely sold out. Meaning, we cannot guarantee that any of these particular sizes, colors, or even styles will last longer than when we hit publish. But as of right now, we spotted discounts on editor-favorite Hokas up to 48% off.
The biggest discount we spotted was an elusive 48% off Hoka Arahi 7. The lightweight running shoe is great for those who over-pronate because of its J-Frame midsole, and it ensures a smooth and breathable stride with no extra bulk or weight. Though we have spotted this style on sale before, it has never been discounted quite this much (down to $64 in rare sizes and colors), so we are sure it won’t last long.
Those who are working on improving their speed and training ahead of fall marathons should check out the 30% off Mach 6 while it is currently under $100 on Foot Locker’s website. Our editor tested the shoe in a lengthy review and said it not only was sleek, cushioned, and comfortable, but training in them shaved minutes off her mile.
Compared to other third party sites, which are seriously lacking in discounts overall, the Hoka website has a fairly stocked sale section. It’s worth noting that you will rarely (if ever) see any shoe discounted more than 20% there, though, meaning that the deals are moderate. However, among the so-so deals in this section, we spotted the best-selling Clifton 9s discounted in two different colorways. Given the popularity of this shoe, as well as its APMA status, the 20% discount is not something to scoff at. We also spotted the suede version of the Cliftons for 35% off on Zappos, if you are looking for a more stylish street shoe with the same podiatrist-approved insole.
