  • Keurig is recalling over 80,000 K-Cup products due to possible mislabeling.
  • Caffeinated coffee pods may have accidentally been labeled as decaf.
  • Here’s a list of impacted products.

If you find yourself reaching for a decaf K-Cup to get the flavor fix without the caffeine, you might want to give the label a second look. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced this week that over 800,000 McCafe Premium Roast Decaf K-Cup Pods have been recalled over a possible labeling issue.

According to the announcement, the products were recalled because they were “labeled as decaf, but might contain caffeine.”

The recall is a Class II, which means consuming the K-Cups “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.” In other words, most people who accidentally drink caffeinated coffee when they thought they were reaching for decaf might just end up wired and inconvenienced for a few hours. But for anyone who needs to avoid caffeine for medical reasons and drinks a mislabeled product, the repercussions may be serious. Keurig noted that the mislabeled products have been removed from the retailer’s shelves.

Which products are affected?

Only one type of Keurig product is ultimately affected by the recall. It can be identified using the following information:

McCafe Premium Roast Decaf Coffee K-Cup Pods

  • 84-count carton
  • Best by: 17 NOV 2026
  • UPC: 043000073438
  • Batch Number: 5101564894
  • Material Number: 5000358463
  • ASIN: B07GCNDL91

Altogether, 960 of the cartons distributed to California, Indiana, and Nevada are being recalled.

What you should do

According to Keurig, all of the recalled products were distributed through a single retailer. Although the retailer was not named, the company reportedly said that customers should have been notified about the recall and what to do with the impacted products. Generally speaking, if you have an item impacted by a recall, you should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
