  • The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Superfoods, Inc. recalled multiple lots of their Super Greens powder supplement, Live it Up Super Greens.
  • The product was recalled over Salmonella contamination concerns.
  • Since the recall, the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) linked the product to a multi-state Salmonella outbreak.

If you are one of many who start their mornings with a greens powder dissolved in a glass of water, you should double-check the brand that you use. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Superfoods, Inc. have recalled multiple lots of Live it Up Super Greens, a super greens powder supplement, after the product was linked to a multi-state Salmonella outbreak.

The greens were sold online directly from the brand’s site, as well as on Amazon and from unauthorized third-party distributors via eBay, Walmart, and others, per the FDA’s report. At the time of publication, according to the FDA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there have been 45 illnesses and 12 hospitalizations related to Salmonella and linked to the Superfoods, Inc. recall. No deaths have been reported at this time. If you believe you have impacted product, do not use it.

Recalled greens supplement details

Recalled greens powder was sold in the United States, including Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands, as well as to consumers located in the United Kingdom, per the FDA. The recall affects lots beginning with the letter “A” and all stick pack products in both Original and Wild Berry flavors. The lot code is printed on the bottom back of the packaging in black and begins with the letter “A” or, for a stick product, the number “3.” Additionally, the affected products have expiration dates from 08/2026 to 01/2028. The specifics are as follows:

  • Live it Up Super Greens, 8.5 oz., UPC 860013190804
  • Live it Up Super Greens, 30 0.28 oz. sticks, UPC 850077468063
  • Live it Up Super Greens, Wild Berry, 8.5 oz., UPC 860013190811
  • Live it Up Super Greens, Wild Berry, 30 0.32 oz. sticks, UPC 850077468070

Products were sold through the retailer’s website beginning in September 2024 and on Amazon.com beginning on July 30, 2025. No other Live it Up products are involved in this recall at this time. Production has been suspended while the FDA and the company continue their investigation into the source of the problem.

Salmonella is an organism that may cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, (potentially bloody) diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, infection may spread to the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

The FDA is still determining if additional recalls related to the outbreak are necessary, and they are conducting a traceback investigation of products that ill people reported consuming before falling sick.

What to do with the recalled product

If you have purchased a recalled product, the FDA recommends disposing of it immediately and cleaning any surfaces it may have come into contact with. You can request a refund by contacting Live it Up at [email protected] and providing your name, order number, and a photo of the product you purchased.

“Live it Up takes food safety extremely seriously,” the retailer said in a statement within the recall. “We apologize for the inconvenience and concern this recall may cause our customers. Our company is committed to ensuring the quality of our products and the well-being of our consumers.”
