This year, many areas of the country experienced a higher than usual number of emergency room visits related to tick bites, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And we can only guess that many of those patients went in search of tick bite pictures ahead of making the ER trip—after all, the images can help discern between a potentially serious tickborne illness and a simple pesky mosquito bite.
