  • Popular electric kettles sold at Costco and HomeGoods are being recalled.
  • The kettles have been sold since 2019.
  • There are very specific instructions on how to get your money back.

Electric kettles sold at Costco and HomeGoods are being recalled over a burn risk. The affected kettles have been in stores since 2019 and continued to be sold until recently.

Zwilling, the maker of the electric kettles, said in a recall notice that one person has already suffered from second-degree burns due to an issue with the kettles. “IMPORTANT: Please stop using the affected kettles immediately,” the recall notice reads.

Here’s what you need to know about this recall, plus what to do if you have one of the impacted electric kettles.

Which electric kettles are being recalled?

Two types of Zwilling Enfinigy Electric Kettles are being recalled: The Zwilling Enfinigy Electric Kettle 1.5L and Enfinigy Electric Kettle Pro 1.5L.

If you’re unsure if your kettle is affected, Zwilling recommends checking the capacity by looking at the label inside the kettle. Only those that state “MAX 1.5 L” or that have a maximum capacity of 10 cups are impacted.

Other Zwilling products, including the Enfinigy 1L electric kettle, the Zwilling 1.25L electric kettle, and the brand’s glass kettles, are not impacted by this recall.

A recall notice issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) estimates that 113,440 of these electric kettles have been sold in the U.S. and 43,963 have been sold in Canada and Mexico.

What do the recalled kettles look like?

All of the recalled kettles are made of stainless steel. They were sold in five different colorways: silver, black, rose, gold, and white.

The kettles have a band near the bottom, along with a Zwilling logo printed on the bottom half.

The impacted models have these numbers printed on them:

  • 53101-200, 53101-201 (Enfinigy Electric Kettle 1.5L)
  • 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503, 53101-504 (Enfinigy Electric Kettle Pro 1.5L)

Why are they being recalled?

The electric kettle’s handle can loosen and separate from the kettle, causing the contents to spill, according to the CPSC notice. That poses a risk of serious injury due to burns.

CPSC has received five reports of “incidents” from the kettle’s handle separating, including with one person who received second-degree burns. CPSC has received 163 reports of the kettle’s handle separating or loosening.

Where were the kettles sold?

The kettles were sold for $120 to $200 at HomeGoods stores across the country and online at Zwilling.com from December 2019 to February 2026. They were also sold at Costco between September 2019 and November 2025.

What to do if you have this electric kettle

Zwilling is asking customers to stop using the kettle immediately and to contact the company at [email protected]. You can also fill out a form at zwillingkettlerecall.expertinquiry.com for a refund. It may take four to eight weeks for the amount to be credited to your account, per Zwilling.

To receive a refund, you’ll need to make the kettle unusable, which includes unplugging it, cutting the cord, and sharing a photo of the kettle with Zwilling, per CPSC. Then, you should throw it out.

“You will of course receive your money back,” Zwilling said in the notice. “We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and ask for your understanding.”
