✔️ Steer clear of gummies: “They contain sugar and negate some of the benefits of the supplement,” Cording says.
✔️ Don’t shy away from seeking professional help: If you’re an overall healthy person and aren’t taking any medications, you should be just fine to start taking a probiotic without first checking in with a dietitian or doctor, says Gans. Just keep in mind, per Gans, that “sometimes trial and error is needed” to find the right formula for you. “A registered dietitian may help narrow down the choices,” she says.
