When shopping for a tinted moisturizer, you want to look for a product that is lightweight, so it doesn’t settle into any creases or fine lines and wrinkles, according to Dr. Chacon. “Ideally a product that helps blur and blends with the skin upon application,” she says.
Both Dr. Chacon and Dr. Castilla say that you’ll want to pay special attention to the ingredient list. “Look for ingredients such as hyaluronic acid that will help bring moisture and plump the skin, ceramides that help support the skin barrier, dimethicone which can help provide uniform application,” Dr. Castilla says.
You should shop with your skin type in mind. According to Dr. Castilla, those with oilier skin types may want to look for something with a mattifying moisturizer, which can help keep your skin shine-free. On the other hand, if you have dry skin, she says glycerin is a must for that extra touch of hydration.
