Nearly 30,000 Pounds of Raw Beef Recalled, Per USDA

Unless you’re following a vegetarian or vegan diet, there’s a good chance you have a package of raw beef on hand in the fridge or freezer. But if you recently purchased yours from a store in Florida or Texas, you may want to take a second look at the label: Nearly 30,000 pounds of beef have been recalled in those states, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Per the USDA’s announcement, the beef is being pulled from shelves by the manufacturing company, Corte Argentino USA LLC, after a “problem was discovered during routine Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) inspection activities.” The USDA has classified the recall at the highest risk level, as the meat was “imported from Argentina without the benefit of import reinspection into the United States.”

While there aren’t currently any reported illnesses associated with the recall, you’ll still want to avoid consuming any of the affected beef. Here’s what you need to know.

Which products are impacted by the recall?

All of the recalled beef was produced between May 15 and May 20, 2026, and has a sell-by date between September 15 and September 20, 2026. It was distributed to stores in Florida and Texas. Check your fridge or freezer for cardboard boxes of beef labeled with the following information.

What should I do with a recalled product?

As of the USDA’s August 7 report, there are no reported illnesses associated with the recall. However, the USDA is urging any consumers who have the recalled beef in their fridges or freezers not to consume it, and instead dispose of it or return it to its place of purchase.
