  • Five flavors of Outshine Fruit Bars have been voluntarily recalled.
  • The affected products may contain glass.
  • Consumers should either dispose of recalled fruit bars or return them to their place of purchase for a refund.

During the dog days of summer, there’s nothing like enjoying a refreshing ice pop—but if you’re the type to keep a box of frozen treats in your freezer, you might want to double-check the label. As of August 16, five flavors of Outshine Fruit Bars have been voluntarily recalled due to possible glass contamination.

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc., the company that manufactures Outshine Fruit Bars, issued a press release announcing the recall “due to possible foreign material contamination with glass.” The affected fruit bars were distributed nationwide. According to the press release, the company isn’t aware of any injuries or illnesses associated with the affected fruit bars, but customers still should not eat the recalled products.

Below, how to identify fruit bars affected by the recall and what to do with them.

How to tell if you have recalled products

The recall is limited to certain batches of Outshine Fruit Bars. Check yours against the batch codes, best-before dates, and UPCs listed here. Additional information, including photos of the packaging, can be found in the company’s press release.
