  • Target recalled popular Up & Up Baby Wipes over microbial contamination concerns, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
  • Here’s a list of impacted products.

If you’re a parent who shops regularly at Target, you may want to double-check your last haul. Up & Up Baby Wipes sold at the retailer nationwide have been recalled due to potential microbial contamination, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

Per the FDA’s announcement, the recalled wipes may be contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia and Burkholderia gladioli, and could cause “serious and life-threatening infections,” including sepsis and pneumonia, if used. Target and the manufacturer of the wipes have already received several complaints of adverse reactions, including “skin irritation, eye irritation, and infections potentially associated with the use of the product.”

Here’s everything you need to know about the recall.

Which products are impacted by the recall?

The recalled products were sold at Target stores nationwide and on Target’s website. The affected wipes were packaged in plastic pouches under the Up & Up brand, and span multiple scents and sizes.

Per the FDA, discoloration on the wipes may signal that something is wrong. But in many cases, the issue goes unnoticed, which means you’ll want to confirm whether your wipes are included in the recall. Check your cabinet for Up & Up Baby Wipes with the following UPC codes, manufacturing date codes, and expiration dates:

  • 800-Count: UPC 085239266137
  • 1200-Count: UPC 085239266090
  • Up & Up Fragrance Free Baby Wipes of any size with manufacturing date code between November 7, 2025 (071125X/XX) and May 5, 2026 (050526X/XXX), and expiration dates between May 10, 2028 (100528) through November 5, 2028 (051128)

More information, including photos of the packaging, can be found in the FDA’s enforcement report.

What should I do with a recalled product?

If you do have any of the recalled wipes, you should stop using them immediately, per the FDA. No matter where you originally purchased them—online or in-store—you can return the wipes to any Target location for a full refund. You can also contact Target customer service at 1-800-440-0680 with any questions.
